  • Investigations of the technology and raw material selection of the earliest stone toolmakers at Gona, Afar, Ethiopia
  • Functional brain imaging research into the neural foundations of Oldowan and Acheulean knapping skills
  • Exploration of the sociocultural context and material instantiations of skill and cogniton in a traditional knapped stone technology (Langda village, Irian Jaya)
  • Comparative analysis of primate regional brain volumes
